Partner Visa: Offshore Temporary – Subclasses 309

 

This visa allows you to enter or remain in Australia on the basis of your married or de facto relationship with your Australian partner.

• Your partner and the application is to be submitted while you are offshore.

Your partner must provide sponsorship for you and they must be one of the following:

• an Australian Citizen

• an Australian Permanent Resident who either settled in Australia or have strong ties to Australia

• an eligible New Zealand citizen who either settled in Australia or have strong ties to Australia

 

When the visa is approved, you may enter Australia as the holder of 309 visa with the following rights:

• full work rights in Australia 

•  study in Australia, but you will not have access to government funding for tertiary study and will be charged international upfront full fees

•  enrol in Australia’s medical benefits expenses and hospital care scheme, Medicare
